Terms of Service
The agreement between you and Dialpad Labs for using Right Hand. By using it, you agree to this.
1. What Right Hand is
Right Hand listens to a conversation you are in, transcribes it, and offers you private suggestions while it happens and a review afterwards. It is software, not a person and not a professional. Its suggestions are generated by language models, they are sometimes wrong, and they are not legal, medical, financial, therapeutic or employment advice. Decisions in your conversations remain yours, and so do their consequences.
2. Private preview
Right Hand is in a private preview. Access is by invitation, it can be withdrawn at any time, and the service may change, break or stop. It is provided free during the preview; if that changes you will be told before you are charged anything.
3. Your account
You need an account, you must be at least 18, and the details you give must be accurate. Keep your sign-in to yourself — anything done through your account is treated as done by you. Tell us at support@righthandbot.com if you think someone else is in it.
4. Recording and consent
You are responsible for having permission to capture every conversation you use Right Hand in. Not us. This is the single most important obligation in this agreement.
Right Hand captures your microphone and, if you turn it on, the audio your computer is playing — which means it captures other people. Laws on recording and transcribing conversations vary by state and by country, and many require the consent of every party. Before you start a session you must have whatever consent the law where you and the other parties are requires.
You agree not to use Right Hand to capture a conversation you have no right to capture, and to indemnify Dialpad Labs against any claim arising from your failure to get that consent.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use Right Hand to surveil, stalk, harass or deceive anyone, including capturing someone who has asked you not to;
- use it where a conversation is legally privileged or confidential in a way that forbids it;
- break the law with it, or use it against the terms of the model providers behind it;
- resell it, rent it out, or try to rebuild the service from its output;
- attack, overload, reverse-engineer or circumvent the access controls of the service.
We can suspend or end access that breaks these rules, and during a preview we can end access without giving a reason.
6. Your content
Your conversations, transcripts and memories are yours. You give Dialpad Labs only the permission needed to run the service for you: to store that content, and to send it to the model providers named in the Privacy Policy so Right Hand can do its job. We do not use your conversations to train our own models, and we do not sell them.
You are responsible for what you put into it, including having the right to put it there.
7. Our content
Right Hand itself — the software, the name, the design — belongs to Dialpad Labs. Using the service does not transfer any of it to you.
8. Third-party services
Right Hand depends on other companies, listed in the Privacy Policy. Their outages are our outages, their terms apply to the part they handle, and we are not responsible for what they do on their own side.
9. No warranty
Right Hand is provided "as is", without warranty of any kind. We do not promise it will be accurate, available, uninterrupted, or fit for any particular purpose. Transcription makes mistakes. Models make things up. Treat what it tells you accordingly.
10. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, Dialpad Labs is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, for lost profits, or for lost or inaccurate data. Our total liability for any claim relating to Right Hand is limited to the greater of what you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim, or one hundred US dollars.
11. Ending it
You can stop using Right Hand whenever you like, and ask us to delete your account at support@righthandbot.com. We can suspend or end your access, particularly during the preview. Sections 4, 6, 7, 9, 10 and 12 survive the end of this agreement.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Disputes go to the state or federal courts located in Utah, and you consent to that jurisdiction.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change matters, we will say so before it takes effect, and continuing to use Right Hand after that means you accept it. The date at the top is the last time these changed.
